New to this forum and to Metastatic Prostate Cancer.

Dear forum,

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer mid last year and had a robotic removal of the prostate late last year. Unfortunately this has returned in two and maybe three places in my body with my PSA numbers rising rapidly at the moment. I have been informed by my clinician to start 25 sessions of radio therapy in conjunction with hormone replacement therapy, this will begin very soon.  He has also asked me to think about having another 8 radio therapy sessions on the location of where my prostate once was. He has informed me that this (extra 8 sessions) will come with life lasting side effects (urinating more often, and an increase of incontinents and tiredness). I don't mind saying that at the moment i am petrified about the whole thing.

I have planned a once in a life time trip in March next year which will be only weeks after the end of the 25 sessions or radio therapy and midway through hormone replacement therapy.

I would really appropriate it if there are people who have been where i am but have already been through this form of treatment to let me know how they were post treatment and how the side effects were and how they handled them.

Also, if there are some of you who may have had the 8 radio therapy treatments post prostate removal and how the side effects are and how you may be handling these.

I know that i am asking a lot but really dont know where else to turn to. The Dr's give me numbers and stats, which is great but i really want to be connected to some people who have "lived" experience with this terrible disease.

I hope to hear from some of you quite soon.
