Radiation on a rectal tumour

Hi everyone, I'm new here, have had cancer for nearly four years and surviving well despite everything. My will to live is very strong. Stage 4 colorectal cancer with mets to lungs and liver. Ive had chemo for 6 month periods (fortnightly) then time off. My doctor has now suggested radiation to the tumour as it hurts when i sit. Has anyone else had this? Has it been successful? I have a friend who had this and its caused incontinence.

I still work and live a normal life in between treatments
