Partial hemipelvectomy for osteosarcoma

Hi all. My surgeon strongly recommends full excision of the osteosarcoma mass in my pelvic bone. Chemo and radiation do not do much with the type of bone cancer I have so excision is the only real solution. I have further meetings with him to discuss everything in more detail but atm I can say that I will have the affected bone taken out and replaced with a titanium implant, fusing the implant to the sacrum for stability.

Has anyone here had a similar procedure? Having surgery to remove pelvic bone?

thanks and I wish the best to you all,

Katherine
