I don't know but I reckon if he was cleared before, then this could be considered a new cancer. Ask the doctor treating him and if he/she says it's not a pre-existing condition then that doctor could give you a letter to back it up. I imagine you are talking in relation to travel insurance. I can imagine having a proper shower would feel wonderful after the not proper ones . It helps you to feel more normal. I remember not washing my face for almost 3 days except to have the water running over it. A nurse told me to do that the day after my op and I was given no other instructions about it on leaving hospital.I didn't feel it was clean. Firstly ,Panadol and multivitamins shouldn't hurt. Hopefully the antibiotic will be temporary and if so ,shouldn't hurt.I gather you researched the rest and I can't comment on those but it all seems complicated . I agree with the previous comment about antidepressants. Try counselling . It helped me when I really thought I'd never feel better. Try the Cancer Council first . The sessions are free and you can also get Medicare rebatable sessions which are free if you can find someone who bulk bills. Sadness is sadly a part of having cancer .I think it's good that your gp is acknowleging this as most surgeons and oncologists don't have the time to address this side of it all.I find it easier to talk with my gps. I agree ,mgOO60 ,that if you had been informed of these side effects you would've coped better. It happened to me with surgery 2 years ago. I became very depressed with how I looked .Other things did not bother me much. I had counselling some months later and was much better after that. This aspect has been mentioned here before and some thought that if we were told of all probable side effects some would opt out of treatment . I know it would be possible .
