HI Husbands GBM Grade 4 first diagnosed in Nov 2011, Surgery took 70% he did radiation and chemo, followed by chemo till his new tumour was found in Dec 2012. Surgery this time with Gliolan which we are told there was 100% resection, so going through radiation and chemo again. We are upto week 4 of radiation and we have noticed that he is far more fatigued this time around. Iam also in Sydney and pretty much scared to death at times to think of what our future holds fighting this. Min

Hey Emma We've been on our GBM journey for a few days short of 14 months. Pete's 1st craniotomy was Nov '11 had 2nd craniotomy in Dec '12 and just commenced his 2nd round of radiation/chemo. Hope your husband is travelling well, and that you are too. Min

Just back from spending a week with my mum in Adelaide as she fnished her radiation treatment. I get to spend two days doing family stuff before we start our daily runs to hospital for Petes radiation. Mum is a rural patient and had to stay in Adelaide for her treatment, fortunately the cancer council SA has fantastic accomadation available to patients with a shuttle bus that runs between hosptial and motel. I got to meet some wonderful people there, all there because of cancer. Some just starting and some who were well into there treatment. It was sobbering for me to meet another 'carer' of GBM sufferer they have just started journey and I could feel and share their total shock and devastation. Here's to a new year that is kind to all

It really is a very evil beast we are dealing with. How is it all going? Pete hasn't had to deal with clots, is there anythng that can't be thrown into the path of someone dealing with GBM? Cheers and hugs Min

This week has been almost as busy as last week. Radiation planning, eye exam, sick kids and school finishing then tomorrow off to oncologist. He is to do his 2nd round of radiation/chemo this time for only 5 weeks starting 7th January (my mum finishes her radiaton on the 4th). I hope your Nigel is doing well, it is such a long wait for that first MRI. Pete is 47, he has been doing well, at least trying to listen to me when I tell him to take it easy. Take care Cheers Min

Cheers Silly, From tomorrow we get a break from the hospital run around till the 27th. So time to try and enjoy our christmas with the kids.

Sometimes things happen much quicker than you can keep up with. News of a new tumour on Fiday last week, in for surgery Tuesday. Recovery from 2nd op has been a lot harder on poor Pete, but today is only Wednesday. A few issues that I'm concerned with post surgery that weren't there before, vision, speech unsteady on his feet. I'm hoping these are all going to disappear. The kids got a shock when I took them in to visit. What can I do but keep my fingers crossed.

I got it wrong was 11th cycle of chemo! MRI was not good new tumour close to original site, it came as a shock to everyone including our oncologist. Have to see when he can have craniotomy but hoping it is before xmas, whats another christmas spent recouperating from surgery? Needless to say driving test is off 😞

Well must be the week for bad MRIs, I was sorry to read the news of your fathers results earlier in the week Tatsoi. My hubby had MRI yesterday news today not good a new tumour close to original site. Second craniotomy coming up before christmas if we can. Damn GBMs. He had just finished his 11th round of chemo, he had his driving test book for next week now to be cancelled. I just feel so terrible for him.
