Hello,I am sorry about your dad getting sick. I hope that you and yours are doing well. I have a 45 year old daughter, who is a mum to three teen children, has a wonderful husband who has his own battle, acute leukemia a few years ago, with secondary cancers popping up. My daughter had surgery for cancer of the stomach, bowel, and esophagus 18 months ago,and is now facing metastasis of the liver. I experienced all the pain associated with the diagnoses of my son in law, then my daughter, and have been as useful and supportive,as I can be,in whatever way I can,and will continue to be there,to maintain the bond, and trust,so that my family have someone to fall back on. And to try to ease the pain the children will have, and to help them to grow up,feeling supported. At the same time, not interfering,or trying to impose any kind of opinion, and respecting boundaries. I am prepared for whatever happens,I just want to be strong enough,to be able to be of practical and emotional support, for as many years as I am needed.
