Dear Members
You may have seen unusual spam activity on Cancer Connections since Sunday evening, we apologise for any inconvenience it may have caused.
Our Cancer Connections team are working with our technical team to amend the situation and restore our Cancer Connections online community.
In the interim, please do not click on any links or open any files that are posted in the community from members that you do not know or you feel unsure of.
We would like to take this opportunity to let you know that we will be launching a new platform for Cancer Connections by the end of the year. We are committed to utilising the latest technology to upgrade this website, providing a safe, dedicated and moderated online peer support community for people affected by cancer.

Dear everyone,
It is amazing how fast the time goes. A year has passed since I started this project to help building www.cancerconnections.com.au. The time to move into another projects has arrived. I will still continue visiting the site every now and then to say hello.
Emmag and the rest of the web team together with some people from the supportive care area will continue working to ensure you receive all the support that you might need or if you have any questions. Remember that if you have any feedback or comments for the site you can use the contact form and if you have any questions that you want to send to the HelpLine you can visit the ASK section or call 13 11 20 directly if it is during working hours.
I have been very happy with how the community has grown and how much support people are providing to each other. That is why this community was created and it is great to see what a great support for so many people it has been so far.
I will not say goodbye because I will for sure be around every now and then :)
Best wishes,
Raul

Dear everyone,
I was just looking at the stats and noticed that we are only 4 people away from reaching 1000. I think it is very important to see how every day we are reaching more and more people affected by cancer. Let's remember that there are more than 100,000 people diagnosed with cancer every year in Australia and that our community makes a difference in all the people that are part of it in a very difficult time of life.
I will post more details on how wide in Australia we are reaching once I am back in the office

Helo everyone,
I just wanted to say that I am on my way back to Australia (at the airport in SIngapore now) and will be back in the office next week. I just wanted to remind everyone of the the importance of the support that Cancer Connections represent for many people out there affected by cancer and that it is what should keep us together as the community we are.
In online communications, it is always normal to have some discussions that might go in a different direction of the one that was initially expected./planned. It is very normal in the online world and have found it in any community I have woorked with. Thsi is something that is not easy to control but what I would like to invite you all is to always keep it in mind and to continue using our community as a place to support people affected by cancer with the information and the conversations that sometimes are very hard to have elsewhere. Cancer connections really makes a difference for many people, let's never forget that.
Sending you all my best wishes and looking forward to being back in the office to continue working in the community next week.
Sincerely,
Raul
