My father was diagnosed last May after having seizures at home. He was told after surgery that he had Gr 3 astrocytoma (right frontal lobe) and went on radio and chemo. His MRI in December was inconclusive due to excessive swelling. He fell over during the week when his left leg gave out, so went to emergency, and yesterday had surgery to remove more tumour and post-chemo swelling.
Today he is hyped up on steroids and confused about where he is. He knows he's in hospital, but has the location wrong and is talking about things that aren't actually happening. It's distressing for my poor mother, but I live interstate and hoping to get up there in a few days.
Are there any other adult children of cancer patients here?
