I have bowel cancer stage 3c. My surgery went really well. I'm on the capecitabine oral chemo for 8 cycles now in my 2nd. I have 3000mg a day and also my oxaliplatin infusion every 3 weeks . I find the capecitabine way easier to manage than the infusion . I get a bit of nausea, some neuropathy , dry skin , lips and if course tiredness ! All very manageable at the moment . I had bowel surgery 7 wks ago. I had a renal bleed so ended up being opened up otherwise it eould have been just laproscopically.  When I got home a week later I was on targin (oxycodone slow release) for about 5 weeks on a weaning dose. I tried to stop twice but it was too soon . I'm off it now but still get twinges and after a couple of shifts at work I'm sore. So be kind to yourself and let your body heal in it's own time.
