Hi Jilliepie, I feel for you and it is good to have a space here to express your emotions and frustration. Unfortunately I too had a bad experience recently when I lose my cool with my husband who is also affected by the side effects of chemotherapy for his oesophageal cancer. I know he is feeling awful and coping his best with all the discomforts in his body and I have read that the cancer therapy can make him short-tempered. We’ll have to be strong for our husbands as we know the good person that is in them. Give him some slack and keep your eye on the Goal of supporting him through this difficult time. Stay strong, have a good cry if you can and do your best to hold your tongue. This is what I keep telling myself too ❤️.

Yes, give it a try and hope your mum can tolerate lactose free milk. Options to try are almond milk or soy milk. Hope one of these alternatives will help your mum.

I’ll remember this drink should my husband need it. He has oesophageal cancer and is currently resting to recover for a major surgery early June. He is finding it hard to swallow, so I blend his meals.

Sorry to hear your mum is not eating well. Have you tried giving her Sustagen (twice a day)? Or try blending stews or soups into a puree or thin liquid form.
