2nd Craniotomy done

Sometimes things happen much quicker than you can keep up with. News of a new tumour on Fiday last week, in for surgery Tuesday. Recovery from 2nd op has been a lot harder on poor Pete, but today is only Wednesday. A few issues that I'm concerned with post surgery that weren't there before, vision, speech unsteady on his feet. I'm hoping these are all going to disappear. The kids got a shock when I took them in to visit. What can I do but keep my fingers crossed.

Hi Minx, I trust all is going well with you and your family. Nigel had his 2nd craniotomy 1mth from the first operation. He came out better than the first one - hopefully your husband will get better in time for xmas. Nigel is still the same, but he is getting breathless easily, I want to take him to the doctor but he does not want to go. I have to respect him for that. He thinks it is the radiation as they say it takes 2-3 weeks after you finish to get over it. I am not sure if this relates to the radiation or not as his hands have started to shake and needs a stick to walk with. We do not have our MRI until the 4 Feb 13. Well MInx let me know how things are going. How old is your husband? Talk soon. Cheers Trish

Cheers Silly, From tomorrow we get a break from the hospital run around till the 27th. So time to try and enjoy our christmas with the kids.

This week has been almost as busy as last week. Radiation planning, eye exam, sick kids and school finishing then tomorrow off to oncologist. He is to do his 2nd round of radiation/chemo this time for only 5 weeks starting 7th January (my mum finishes her radiaton on the 4th). I hope your Nigel is doing well, it is such a long wait for that first MRI. Pete is 47, he has been doing well, at least trying to listen to me when I tell him to take it easy. Take care Cheers Min

Hi Minx, Glad things are going well for your husband Peter. Enjoy your Xmas with the kids and Peter and your mum has a good one too. Hard when some one you love lives in another state and going through treatment also. We live outside of Ballarat and my mum is in Sydney and has just got out of hospital for the second time in a week. Tired heart - tough when you really cannot do anything to help remotely. Nigel has having a bad time with the dex as his joints are painful especially around 3am in th morning for a few hrs. Breathing is very shallow and the drs cannot find anything. Oxygen saturation is good and no fluid around the heart or lungs. Otherwise spirits are good and life goes on and looking forward to Xmas with our daughter, my brother and his wife.
