It's the Grand Final day and Dennis said yesterday that he would watch the game. I guess he's now watching it from the best seat. It's hard to let him go. I'm glad I was there holding him, telling him how much I love him and it's OK to have a rest and not fighting anymore.

Thanks everyone. I thought I would feel better when Dennis doesn't suffer any longer. I have ended up feeling worse than when he was around. I used to cry because I felt so lonely before I met him and the past 11 years and a half I had not done that again until now.

Hugs and love Nat.... my softest hugs and love. There will be different stages in grief, the memories of Dennis, all sometimes returning from time to time, all different aspects. His going csn now allow you to hit the bottom, experience the numbness, the endless waves of his not being there and whatever else is there within your soul. The feelings will slowly change your grief be softer. my love to you Nat Geoff

I'm so sorry for your loss, Geoff. Lorraine is so lucky to have you by her side. You're truly an amazing man provided such a great care for her. I appreciate your suppor, it did help me to understand that it's OK to hit the bottom. People tried to keep me company after Dennis had passed away and I ended up telling them to leave me alone. I had cried for 24 hrs then had a surprisingly good 9 hrs sleep and now I feel much better and ready to organise a farewell for my best friend ever. I will try to stand up tall on my own but knowing that I have great frieends here who have supported me throughout the journey. I hope you can do the same. I believe our partners would be upset to see us being so sad and unhappy by their depart as they are still here with us in our hearts. I'm here if you need someone to talk to.

It is understandable and normal that you are crying . As well as losing your husband you will have a lot of pent-up emotion from living through the illness.
