Newbie

Hi, all I'm a newbie here, been on the ACOR-FAP list for many years. Elaine is my sister - craftyone - and lives in Victoria. I'm in Western Australia. Like Elaine, I do quilting, cross-stitch and jewellery but I also paint, play the piano (really out of practice) and write science fiction. I work full-time but intend to retire in 4 years time and go around Australia with my 2 closest friends in a Winnebago, writing and painting our way across the country. We're also ambassadors for the Thermomix, so we are going to refresh our training in selling that for when we get to rallies. Stu's dad reckons all the grey nomads will flock to it! (Yes, please!) We are also ACN Reps and Les and I currently work for the titles office in WA. Les and I are planning on doing the Conveyancing course in the last 12 months so we'll have plenty of ways to make money while we're on the road. I could say it's nice to be here, but I wish we didn't have a need for sites like this. :( Jules.

Hiya Jules Welcome to another west aussie! I am a little further south than you, although I went to Perth for my treatments. You sound like you lead a busy life with working fulltime and all of your interests. Welcome to the site and yes it is a shame that we have to have it but it could be worse, it may not be in existance at all. :) Julie

Thanks, Jules. Yeah, gotta be busy - otherwise you get bored and lose track of where you want to be in life! I do hope to be part time by next year, tho. :) Jules.

Hi, Carolyn Sorry about the delay of this response, I've been trying write a 50000 word novella by 30 November and got caught up! I have Cert IV in Business Management (Front Line). I found it pretty easy going - how are you going with yours? I had to give up crocheting to a degree as I have (hehe, always makes me laugh) moderately severe carpal tunnel syndrome. I usually reserve crocheting and knitting for long day driving trips so I don't fall asleep. With knitting, I use circular needles so I don't feel like my elbows are spread out! :D Jules.
