Hi guys, i just wanted to let you know that I am taking a break from my YAC related work. After a long hard think, I have made the decision to take 12 months off and see what happens and what life may be like without thinking about cancer. I have never done this and for the sake of my sanity (and all those around me!) tells me that its time to do it. I would love more than nothing to be able to work in the YAC field, and to make this decision at this crucial point in time for the YAC movement, pulls me apart. But I must take this time out to see if I really belong or whether I need to move on, or just change a few things around. I think there is no better time than right now to do this. Its been awesome getting connected with some very inspiring and lovely people here and I say thanks for your many efforts of support and friendship. Take care of yourselves and all my best wishes, Nikki

Go for it Nikki, focus on your kid and your future with him. You once told me that cancer will always be part of you, but you don't need constant reminders that that is the case.

Interesting Nikki. I have been thinking lately about whether the involovement with this site is a constant reminder and do I need to move on. For me now, it still forms a support network that I wouldn't otherwise have. I am so pleased that you are able to focus on your little one and be happy with all of that involves. Great to be able to make that decision. Samex

We all need a break from something sooner or later Nikki, and cancer is a subject that really does tend to take over all of life. If you need to give it a break, then go with the knowledge that it is the right thing to do and return if or when you feel you want to. There will, sadly, always be more people with cancer arriving or leaving and you cannot be everything to everyone without losing something of yourself. I have run a Cancer Corner for over 5 years in eBay Community Spirit and even so, there are times I let a few days go by and go read a book or do something else. I survived cancer 12 years ago, but all of us who have had it can contribute something without burning ourselves out. Go and enjoy your little one and life outside cancer with blessings 🙂
