I am actually wondering if the joining process for this site needs to be tightened up a bit and make a it a little bit more of a process for the spammers to get through. Might deter them somewhat. Perhaps allow people to join and write but the writing not be posted publicly for a week or so?

Yup me too i dont understand the mentality. I think what happens with some of them is that it becomes a challenge to beat the system as much as anything else. When we access the internet we all have a number assigned by our isp which can identify us and we can be linked back to that number (jump in here anyone if i have got this wrong). However, there are programs out there that can assign a different number and keep assigning different numbers to you, so that you can evade bans on chat rooms and sites. Some pretty clever people around who should do something constructive with their intelligence instead of being boringly predictable as they are becoming on this site. :)
