It will depend on how your mum is going at the moment. Best bet is to talk to the doctors or cancer nurses. Do you have support and are you aware of palliative care?
A lot for you to deal with at the mo and sending you hugs.
We had a similar diagnosis in our family and we were devastated when we heard the news, however some how she got another 5 years in her life before sadly passing earlier this year. But that was 5 years the doctors didn't give her. Then there was an instance of another family member who was given 6 months....and died in less than a few weeks. Either way...there is no way of knowing what is going to happen and you will need support, happy for you to chat, but just take each day at a time. The cancer council does offer people to speak to and counselling for family and friends of loved ones going through this.
Here if you need.
Cancer Council NSW would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work.We would also like to pay respect to elders past and present and extend that respect to all other Aboriginal people.
