Getting help with the care of a young baby while going through Chemo

The step mother of my children has been diagnosed with cancer and will need ongoing Chemo therapy.

She has a very young baby, only a few months old, and will need help with caring for the baby and or herself. Her husband will not be able to manager her well-being, the new born baby, two children from a previous marriage who attend their house every second weekend, plus work full time.  They are not in a financial position to employ a nanny. Does anyone know if you can get free/subsidised care assistance for this scenario around caring for the baby or caring for the mother? If so please share your knowledge, contacts, etc. ASAP to help us plan the next few months etc. Thank you!

Hi GB,
Perhaps they could consult her palliative care team/community health or even her GP & get some advice thru them. They could let her know what is available in her area.
