Coping with hot flashes without HRT because of breast cancer

Wondering if there are any women who have had breast cancer and then had to suffer through menopause without HRT.  I'm having loads of hot flashes and have been told I can't use HRT because of having had breast cancer (I had a mastectomy just over two years ago).

Any one got any idea what the risk of cancer returning is if one does take HRT?

Or any hints or alternate treatments that work?

I have heard that acupuncture can be quite helpful in this situation

Hello, I am using essential oils to help. I’m just going through menopause (4 weeks post op) . Total hysterectomy and I’m unable to take HRT. My hot flashes haven’t been too bad as of yet.
