It's been 2 years since my Dad passed. I'd like to share with him, all the things I've learnt about life while I've been on the journey. On the other hand, I'm glad he doesn't know I have cancer. It would break his heart. Surely I caused him enough pain in his lifetime with all my stupidity and antics.
So in the middle of the night, unable to sleep and thinking about how he taught me to play chess. He never let me win. He made me earn it. He taught me how to win. That's the lesson he taught me about cancer. How perceptive of him?
I still miss him though.
Hey mate,
My Dad also taught me to play chess. Never let me win either!
I still really enjoy playing.
My eldest son (9yo) now likes chess and has been part of the chess club at his school since he was in year 1.
Funny how these things have such an influence on the future.
