Hi …
I’m Essie. I was diagnosed with stage 2B pancreatic cancer last year and had most of my pancreas removed followed by 6 months of Folfirinox chemotherapy. Now post-treatment my blood CA19 is over 500 (and with a clear ''no sign of disease'' CT scan) compared to a much lower CA19 when I still had the tumour, pre-surgery and pre-chemo. Has anyone else experienced this? Thank you.
Hi @Essiejay
I am very sorry to hear about your diagnosis and what you have had to navigate through your treatment.
Thanks for joining us in the forum and posting. This is a very supportive space to share and ask for support from others.
I can imagine it is challenging to make sense of your recent results. Have you spoken about them to your medical team? Have they been supportive in you understanding this result?
Take care
Felicity
Thank you Felicity ... it is a case of being in limbo ... sit and wait for the next few months for another scan and see if 'anything shows' plus another CA19 bloods. They don't know why / what is going on at the moment. But I thought I'd see if anyone else had experienced similar.
