...but I've been very concerned the last few months.
I was diagnosed in February and was happy to have none cancerous-cells it seems, but still was deemed intermediate risk and to come back in 12 months to re-test.
Since they didn't ask for me to do any further tests I was fine, but the last two months I have only had spotting instead of periods, which is very peculiar (Definitely not pregnant, we have been sexually active for 15 years and never got pregnant and we tried for a year and nothing came of it , which I'm totally fine with).
I am concerned about these symptoms and not sure if I should go back to my doctor and retest, or if this is normal and I should just wait till the 12 months (I understand PMV creates cell changes and this can occur too).
I could really use advice, I don't have anyone to talk to.
Thanks for reaching out to the forum and I can understand it is stressful and confusing to be navigating these symptoms.
I would encourage you to visit your GP and speak about your symptoms. If you would like to speak to our health professionals about your concerns you can call Cancer Council on 13 11 20. They can provide you with information. However they are not able to provide individual medical advice.
Take care,
Felicity
I am sorry to hear about what you've been through.
What is PMV sorry?
I don't have a good understanding of your circumstances and risk factors, nor do I understand how invasive the testing is.
I think you should consider going back to your GP, sit down and have a discussion about what is going on and what the next steps are.
Here are some things to think about and maybe ask your GP.
How invasive is another test?
Maybe your symptoms are caused by something else?
Can they help you either rule this out as none harmful or whether this needs further investigation.
Keep asking questions until you are comfortable with the response.
