I’ve just finished cancer treatments and my gums are damaged

My gums are moving away from the teeth. Before chemo they were fine but post chemo they seem a bit damaged. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi MelissaL,

I hope that isn't too uncomfortable. I can't say that I experienced that myself, but that side effect will probably depend on what treatment you are having.

What chemo therapy are you having?

I haven't experienced it myself but I did work for a dentist once and people whose teeth were damaged due to cancer treatment were eligible for treatment under Medicare extended.  The yearly limit 10 years ago was $4,000.
