Re: Living alone with Cancer and Depression

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you very much, you and Cindi are just amazing and I'm so glad that I have met you both here, your support helps me keep going and stay focused.

Yes, I'm hoping my immune system can improve with the treatment and fight all these other horrible things going on with my body.

My partner helps me stay focused and calms me when I'm so down, just like the last few days when I've felt the worst in my life,  health wise and mental well being.

I just can't believe that a year ago I was so fit and healthy for my age, anyway I have to concentrate on getting better and managing my health from now on.

Wishing you better with your treatment.

Always here for you,

Take care.

Richard xx

Re: Living alone with Cancer and Depression

Hi @Richard56 ,

How are you feeling? I've been thinking about you and hope you're feeling ok.

I had my double chemo and first saw my Oncologist, he explained to me he'd have to reduce the amount of one of the chemo's as my kidney & liver aren't too happy and we just hope it doesn't ruin my hearing and tinnitus, I'm ok at the moment, I'll see how I am later.

Usually the side affects start tomorrow.

Also I asked my Onc why my cancer was called "bladder cancer" when it was in the Ureter lining, he said it's all connected , as the lining goes from kidney down ureter and around bladder.

I hope your cancer is getting hammered from your treatment😁 and you're feeling better in yourself.

Sending hugs

Cindi x

Re: Living alone with Cancer and Depression

Hi @Cindi54

you certainly are having a rotten time with your chemo, I hope they get it right for your well being soon

I don’t understand why your doctor says kidney and ureter cancer called bladder cancer as a separate organ, most people with bladder cancer will not get the other two and bladder cancer treated so differently, I don’t really know but some information does say some doctors will say they are connected, I know my doctor doesn’t

I hope you feel better in the next week

Hi @Jennifer66 ,

Just to let you know I just wrote you a long post but frustratingly it disappeared??!! saying something about wrong authorisation??

I'm so annoyed as it took me ages to write, all about my cancer report , so not fair, and now exhausted so will wait till I have some energy, sorry😔

Re: Living alone with Cancer and Depression

Hi Cindi,

Sorry for the delay, I've been feeling ok, the BCG last Monday was ok, the treatment lasted 2hrs, everyday since, the pain in my bladder has been increasing slightly, but no big deal, my next treatment is tomorrow, the onc team said every week the pain intensity will increase slightly.

I'm taking antidepressants, but I'll have to wait a while for them to kick in, they're making me feel more anxious and brain fog, apparently that's normal and temporary, but really I don't like this feeling, I'll persevere though.

How are you feeling after your double chemo ?, I hope you're feeling a bit better by now.

Thinking about you and sending you hugs.

Hi @Richard56

So sorry your BCG left you not feeling great, I found Panadol was great for me and all I needed

Don’t feel anxious about it, now you have been through a treatment you know what the experience is, so hopefully will be a lot easier for you

good thoughts with you 💖💖

Re: Living alone with Cancer and Depression

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you , my Surgeon and GP suggested I go on antidepressants to lift my mood, but one of the side effects was anxiety, i really don't like this feeling, but I was told the anxiety will settle and I'll feel better, I hope so as I've never felt anxiety like this before.

How are you ? What is happening with your treatment now and what stage are you at ??

Hugs to you,

Richard xx

Re: Living alone with Cancer and Depression

Hi @Cindi54

so frustrating when that happens and l know the feeling has happened to me as well

my thoughts with you as

with many different cancers you are fighting with ongoing treatments with many side affects you certainly are having a tough time

you certainly are one strong fighting woman  with so much care and compassion for others

Re: Living alone with Cancer and Depression

Hi @Richard56

Anxiety is something we certainly suffer, and I have had nine surgeries in the last 18months and as I lie on the bed waiting to go to theatre I have suffered meltdowns, the day before hospital is usually full of anxiety. Everyone is different and although my GP has thought anti depressants maybe a good idea I have never gone with any medication, I find my clear muddled head gets me through

My treatments are surgery when tumours that keep growing are cut away and my bladder is dosed up with potions that have come to an end of working,

I have a stent in my ureter and the cancer is lasered at end

thoughts with you always stay strong
