Re: Bowel recovery after operation

I had bowel surgery 7 wks ago. I had a renal bleed so ended up being opened up otherwise it eould have been just laproscopically.  When I got home a week later I was on targin (oxycodone slow release) for about 5 weeks on a weaning dose. I tried to stop twice but it was too soon . I'm off it now but still get twinges and after a couple of shifts at work I'm sore. So be kind to yourself and let your body heal in it's own time. My surgeon said this was all normal . Hope that's helpful!
