I am sorry that your cat died. Ours died last year,19 years old ,a good girl too. Our dog ,13 years old,died as well and she was so easy and so well behaved.That was within a few months. I am feeling happier now .It seems many of us have these down times. I hope you find something suitable. May I ask ,did they pay you for the trial? My sister was job hunting recently and she had an offer to do a trial for half a day or a day but she decided not to as she reckons it's illegal not to be paid and it was to be unpaid. I don't know if she's correct but it sounds unfair and illegal to me. I imagine many would be willing if it means a job. ... View more

It's great that you started using this site. I don't have the same cancer as you but we all have similar emotional responses. I have only started to cry once since my diagnosis and that was after I saw an eye specialist who was only giving a second opinion about my surgery, He said I should have my eye and its surrounds taken out. I only shed a couple of tears and stopped but crying is a great release and gets the tension out. Maybe I'd be better off crying occasionally but I'm not a crier. You will meet others here who have or know someone with the same cancer as you .You will also meet many who understand how you feel . I think most of us get nervous before an appointment ,not sure what the test result will be ,even if we are optimistic. Welcome to this great little community! ... View more

Andrew , I always enjoy your replies .You have a way of getting to the heart of the matter. Thanks for your response. I don't think I'm vain ,just want to look normal but I think it sounds like vanity,like I'm shallow. I sometimes feel ashamed when I read about much worse damage this thing called cancer has has done to others.It is easy to forget this when I see myself in the mirror getting ready to go out and mixing with normal looking people. Sometimes I feel like I want to say to strangers that I used to "look like you-normal. Cancer did this!I didn't always look like this" or "it could happen to you."
