Well said ,as usual for you. Last year I was invited by the P.A. Hospital in Brisbane to a National Cancer Survivors Day event their first ever. I had wondered at what point one becomes a survivor .Then I was about 16 months past diagnosis and about 9 months past treatment. I realised then that I must be a survivor. Previously I had thought that a survivor was one who had beaten it . Of course since then I've learnt that for many cancers one cannot even feel confident of this,let alone know it. I'm not even sure how many doctors use the term remission. Mine never have to me but I say I am .That also implies to me that it's a temporary position,which it is believed to be with ACC . Jules,I am 61 years old now so it's a long time since my childhood .I think they had dry what once a day and a bran and not sure if there was something else mixed in water once a day. Since the there may be new ideas. When my kids were young we lived on acreage for one year only and we had 6 chooks who were eaten by the neighbour's part dingo dog ,one by one. It sounds as though they are being honest in saying she needs chemo but is not strong enough yet. I can't really say but it makes sense to me. You may want them to hurry but she may not be able to cope physiically yet. I understand your sense of urgency but if you are confused you or her care giver may ask the doctor to explain it more clearly . With my cancer I have seen where in the USA some are receiving experimental chemo treatment .As yet none exists that is successful for all with this cancer. I am happy that I am in remission and not in need of such treatment.There is a developing trend in the US for personalised treatment ,but only in some of their more progressive cancer centres. Some people with the cancer I have travel to other countries for newer types of radiation . One good thing in Australia is that we all can get treatment at the time we need it .
