Hi KJ,
Thanks for your comment. My pain is slowly getting better - guess I'm just impatient.
Thanks again.

Hi Shirley,
I don't know anything about rectal cancer but I do understand how your world can change as soon as you're diagnosed with cancer. I'm 52 with a 28 year old son and even though my family and friends have been supportive, I've found it very hard, scary and often lonely as well. I think for me, one of the hardest things has been the waiting - waiting for the op, waiting for the radiation to start (and finish) etc etc
The people on this site I have dealt with have been wonderful and very supportive. I'm really glad you've joined. Good luck tomorrow - will be thinking of you. Let us know how you're getting on when you're ready and can. Take care and be gentle with yourself.

My radiation finished 2 weeks ago. The next day I had a TIA - mild stroke. I'm fine except for being very very tired and my burns are still healing. I just can't seem to get my head around what's been happening to my body. I want so much to be pain free and back to normal.

Hi John,
I found that it's really the small things that mean a big deal in these times. Particularly when someone makes you feel like a human and realises you do have emotions etc. One of the loveliest things a radiation technician would do for me was to tie up my gown - most of the others didn't but it tied at the back and he didn't want everyone else seeing my 'butt'. Meant a lot to me that he would think of it.
Have a great time planning your party. It's wonderful to have something like that to focus on 🙂

Wow Jan! Have you been through the mill! Fortunately, my haemorrhoids have disappeared and that part of my life is now relatively normal but boy can I relate to some of the pain you must have gone through - pure hell. Thanks so much for your response. I'm hoping things are going really well for you now.

Hi Myboys3,
I have no idea about your cancer but I wish I was just sitting next to you so I could give you a hug. If it's any help, I think there's always hope. I'm so sorry you have to go through all this. If you want to rant and rave or get anything at all off your chest, please feel free to send a pm.
