Hi Deputy, I can soooo understand how you must feel, just been through two weeks of radiation and start dow the chemo road shortly, dreading it, the side effects sound horrible but what choice do we have? Good luck, thinking of you, hang in there, probably get better as you continue!

Hi Chalky, I was diagnosed with Myeloma 4 years ago and have just started readiation treatment for the pain from a tumour on my spine. It is excruciating and have to get pain under control before i start on the chemo road. However, I have had hyerpercalcemia, kidney failure, 2 bouts of pneumonia from the Myeloma and was told because I refused chemo up front that it is like putting out spot fires but it will develop into a bushfire eventually, if you can understand that analagy. Guess I am there now! Have had two lots of Zometa infusions and have an immunoglobulin infusion once a month which helps with infection due to suppressed immune system, hang in there, the waiting is awful I know. And feel free to chat if you would like.

I have secondary bone cancer along with Myeloma. I am on Morpheine, day and night and still in excruating pain. Waiting on Biopsy to find out which one is giving me the pain, I suspect the bone cancer. My question is, when do you sonsider palliative care and can you have a private room. I saw my mother die in one of those public hospices and it was awful, people going each day, I dont want to see that. Would rather just do it alone in a private room. I have private insurance. TIA And has anybody been helped with chemo at this late stage for the pain and should I excercise or not. Its very painful just to walk.
