Hi Alana,
Good for you, sounds truly wonderful.
When you said you had a new project I thought you were meaning something like clean out the pantry/take up scrapbooking .......!!
Wow, you are blowing me away with your vision.
Good luck!
Jill xx

Hi Chris,
So glad you found this site, it has been a life-saver (well maybe a sanity-saver) to me on many occasion.
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad and the poor state of health he is in, no-one wants to see someone they love suffer in pain.
I hope that his op on Friday to put the stent in is successful and gives him some comfort.
He may be 83, but he is YOUR DAD and it is natural to feel sadness at the thought of losing him and watching him suffer.
Use this site to vent your frustrations, share your feelings and connect with other people who can understand the huge range of emotions that you are experiencing.
Take care of yourself and be kind to yourself,
kind regards
Mrs Elton.

All the best to you and your family, look forward to hearing all the details of the new addition.

Willow,
Your load is heavy, heavier than anyone deserves.
I hope you found some relief by sharing with us, it was a good decision to come online and put your thoughts out there.
I have no words of wisdom, just caring thoughts and an ear to listen (or eye to read as the case may be).
Our hearts go out to you, hoping you find strength, hoping you find help and hoping you can feel our best wishes are with you.
Take care,
Jill xxooxx

Esther,
I can relate to your need for your aunt to reach out to you and offer you support.
I have struggled frequently with the need for particular people (not necessarily family) to reach out to me and have been disappointed by their lack of action.
In our journey (I am the carer, my husband is the 'patient') I have often found that the people I expect to be there for me the most, are often not yet people who I didn't feel I had a close relationship with have given me the greatest support.
I find it confusing and difficult, but am slowly realizing that I just need to focus on the people who can give me what I need.
When things get on top of me and I am feeling really low, I often find myself withdrawing as the thought of reaching out for help and getting none is too scary. At those times I have nothing left to give and I need someone to reach out and help me out of the hole I am in.
Sailor is a wise man and his advice is always worth considering. I wish you and your partner strength and courage in your journey together.
Best wishes,
Jill.

Margc,
Hope the last chemo can be celebrated.
Best of luck for radiation, my husband had very little trouble with it, just fatigue and a bit of redness (his was full brain treatment so not sure if that is different to breast radiation).
Take care, hope you're feeling better soon.
Jill.

Hope it makes a bit more sense now......!

Hi Julie,
Have only had reiki once and certainly did find it relaxing, maybe too relaxing!!! I was wiped out by it and there is no way I would take the chance of driving after it. Charlies is probably a bit too far away given that I would need someone else to come with me to do the driving.......but you've reminded me that my 'local' cancer support lady has mentioned it's available up at Kalamunda hospital (I think) and if so, I could probably drive to my Mum's place and get her to drop me off and then pick me up. If I time it right I could go back to her place and have a sleep before I had to drive home.
Thanks! You've got me thinking!!!
