mrs Elton and wifeyb. All we can do is share this journey and feel the pain that others are going through. Please try and keep yourselves well and enjoy the time you have with your loved ones.I find now we tell everyone how much we love them and that is the only positive we can take from this wretched disease.
Take care

Returned last week from 8 days in Adelaide meeting our new grandson Sebastian. He is such a cutie but slept a lot of the time we were there. It was wonderful to see how excited my fiance was to meet his grandson.Just so thankful we got the time to do this. He is now on tablet form chemo and we go to hospital and Oncologist every three weeks for intravenous Avistan. The tablet form of chemo doesn't make him quite as tired and as he had his picline taken out we have been able to travel. Can't wait for the kids and baby Sebastian to come over to visit in just over two weeks for our wedding on April 10th.These lovely distractions have been a godsend for us and our family and friends. We bought our motorhome on the weekend and hopefully take delivery next week. Lookout Australia here we come.
My fiance has had a pain around the eye area the last week so we have been to Doctor today and although he doesn't think it sounds like a tumour he has organised a brain scan to be sure. The rollercoaster continues but we will try not to think too much about it until results are in (easier said than done). When fun and exciting things are happening around you it is easy for a moment to forget about your prognosis.
Love hugs and best wishes to everyone.

Hi Joanna. Your blog has reminded me its time to go give blood again. This time I think I will enquire about giving plasma. I usually give blood around Christmas and Easter but think I will now give it more often. This is something practical we can do as carers when we sit around wondering what we can do to help our loved ones and everyone else battling this horrid disease. For those who haven't donated before give it a go.As you say it may be our donation you get.
All the best

Hey Jules,So glad you are getting your results straight away. Will be thinking of you Thursday. We go back to Oncologist Thursday as well to see what treatment they are going to do next. Partner has been off chemo 3 weeks as finished intravenous chemo and was awaiting results from angiogram to see if they were going to give SIRT radiation directly into liver. They have decided not to do this for two reasons. One is they said their is very little disease left in the liver (thats the good news) but also as he has some disease in the peritoneum and lymph nodes near vertebrae (thats the BUT) he has to go on second line chemo for that.We think this will be tablet form with 1 hour of Avistin intaveneously every 3 weeks and if this is the case we will go buy our motorhome and start to travel.
Wedding plans are all done just waiting for the day. Also first grandchild is due today in Adelaide so eagerly awaiting daughter-in-laws labour starting.
Once again prayers, love and thoughts to you on Thurs.

I have been with my partner for nearly 11 years and due to the fact that his prognosos is only a couple of years I took the plunge and asked him to marry me. After the initial shock as it was totally out of left field he said yes as he knew it was so important to me.We are getting married at home in front of 80 people (including his two sons, his two stepdaughters and my two sons and daughter)in seven weeks time. I have managed to organise everything in just over a week. Who said weddings were hard to organise.
The other good thing is it has given us a different focus and for the first time since he was diagnosed in August I actually have some time when I am not thinking about cancer. It has also given our family and friends a boost as well.
Hugs to everyone

Hi Jill
If only we could all go back in time but thats not going to happen and we just have to live with the things this horrible disease throws at us.All we can do here is offer each other support and know that others are thinking of you constantly. Take care of yourself and your boys.
