Hi Sonya,
I think I start this coming Monday or Tuesday and should find out soon what the weekly cycles are. I can't believe I'm saying this but am actually hoping and praying I get the rash so I know it's working and blasting those damn liver spots left into oblivion. We do have a history of bowel cancer in our family unfortunately my uncle got it in his early 40's but was cured as it was in his bowel only and hadn't spread anywhere else. I will make sure I keep you posted on my progress as I get the chemo. Am looking forward to my second liver operation to get this crap out of me once and for all.

My husband suffered terribly from mouth ulcers one time so bad that he could hardly eat. We tried lots of things but nilstat drops worked almost immediately. I got the drops over the counter at the chemist.
Take care
Gail.

Hey Gail
Thanks for the update and am sorry to hear that your husband's cea markers are on the rise despite the chemo.
So glad to hear your holiday to america was good, especially so since your husband experienced some difficulty walking. I bet the grandy is just gorgeous and I look forward to having one of those one day. Must be nice to be able to play and spoil and "give back". haha
Roll on result time for you and I hope that passes quickly because the waiting place is not nice.
take care
Julie

Hi Gail
I'm sorry to hear of your husbands condition, I hope things start looking up for him soon.
I agree completely, the test should be done earlier, a good mate of mine died about 5 years ago from bowel cancer that hadn't been found anywhere near early enough, and obviously before FOBT test was made available, yet even so, I didn't give it any real thought until the test turned up in the post.
He was about 5 years older than me at the time.
My kids and siblings have all been told to get tested, in the case of the kids from 35 on, as I was diagnosed positive, and immediately in the case of my 3 sisters. That's a few years off for the kids yet, but I'm glad to say my sisters all tested negative.
I realize this is just one among a range of cancers in our society, but it's probably the one that we're being given the best chance of early detection.
If we all get out there and make people aware of the importance of actually doing the test, a lot more will survive.

Hi Gail,
My feet were not so great when a friend dragged me around NYC last year. Had a ball!!!!
Does your husband have some really squishy socks and maybe some spongey inner soles?
They may help a little.
Hope you are having a ball despite to crummy hands and feet.
