Hi Natalie, welcome to the forums. Don't feel shy about inviting yourself in to our lives, that's what we're all here for.Sounds like you've had a real rough trot. Cancer is a coward of a disease you're right, I wish it didn't affect people who've lived the healthy lifestyle and don't smoke etc. I wish it didn't affect anyone to be perfectally honest. Just wanted to let you all know about Spring Up. Spring Up is a Pancreatic Cancer Support Program for people affected by pancreatic cancer, their family and carers. 2 Groups are being launched in April: Metro west April 10 at Auburn and Metro north April 17 at Roseville. Both venues are pleasant enviroments with good access. Groups run for two sessions with tea/coffee break in the middle. The whole group lasts around one and half hours including tea/coffee break.Session 1 is Information provided by Health professionals and Session 2 is group support. People are welcome to come to one or both sessions. The 1st session will be "What is The Pancreas?GOALSSUPPORT: Practical and emotional support is helpful at all stages of treatment and care. Being part of a group provides opportunities to share information, experiences and feelings in a caring environment, where everyone is going through a similar experience.PARTNERSHIP: Partnering with health professionals we work together as a caring community, to support each other.RESPECT: We respect the individual views and differences of all people.INFORMATION: Provide accurate, up-to-date information relevant to pancreatic cancer and treatment through professional input.NURTURE: In an environment of trust and strictest confidence we nurture ourselves and each other.GROUP: The comfort and security of the group provides opportunity for creating awareness and recognition of one's choices.THE GROUP MEETS MONTHLY.FOR FURTHER INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION PLEASEPHONE:The Cancer Council Helpline: 13 11 20
