Hi Glenys, Thank you for your reply. Firstly I must say that I am not scared, my step-dad died from bowel cancer 14 years ago so we have been through this already. Although no one wants to die from cancer we have to accept that cancer is becoming more prevalent in Australia and other Western countries, to the point that it is expected that one in two of us will have cancer of some kind by the time we are 85. Luckily for most people their cancers are curable, caught early enough bowel cancer has a very good cure rate. Mine however was not found until it was very advanced. We all will die, a fact no one can escape from, I see no purpose in being angry or scared, this is how things are. When I first joined Cancer Connections I hoped that I would be able to find like minded people in a similar situation to chat with, this has not been easy, many times you think that you have made a connection with someone and then you never receive an answer. The few people that I have had the privilege to connect to one on one have enabled me to talk about some difficult subject matters with people who do know what I am going through. Through this sharing and support of each other we all become stronger, everyone needs to talk, at all times of the day and night. We use MSN messenger, a safe, ad free and private set up that can allow up to 15 people ( I am sure someone will tell me if this is incorrect) to chat per session. Hi Johnno (or is it Neil) Yes you have a huge decision to make, and no one but you can make it in the end as you have to live (or not) with the outcome. There are many things you need to get information on before you decide. What stage are you at, what other medical problems do you have? What type of chemo, side effects?
