Hi Gaby! Thank you for sharing your experience. If only we had a dollar for everytime we heard the phrase 'good cancer'. There's no such thing. I am the same. It took me years to process what happened. I went through a depressive episode in 2022 but have come out on the other side feeling much better. It's still difficult though. Alot of health anxiety. I am now 5 months pregnant as well, which is amazing considering the cancer experience. What else is on your mind?

Hi Sam - So sorry for the late reply... I have only just seen your post I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's diagnosis. How is she doing now? I didn't experience anything major with my hair other than dryness.

Hi there, I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I truly do understand how scary it is. My counsellor (also via cancer council) told me very early on to never google anything! She was so right, it's the worst thing you can do. Google doesn't know your situation, the specifics of your diagnosis etc. I am happy to connect with you over social media if that would be better?

Hi S, Thank you so much for your reply, it is so appreciated. Physically, doing better. The specialist is super happy with my progress. But in general, it's been tough since diagnosis. Especially as lots of people tend to remind me I had the "good cancer". My anxiety got to its worst, I fell into depression and started taking some helpful serotonin tablets at the end of last year. It was the best decision I made. I just wonder if anyone else has had the same mental experience? The scar on my neck isn't the problem, the scar it's left in my mind is what's the worst. Sorry for the word vomit!! Thanks for the advice for calling cancer council. I'll definitely do that.

Hi all. I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in 2020 at the age of 25. I had a complete thyroidectomy with 19 lymphnodes removed, major parathyroid issues and radioactive iodine treatment. I was wondering if there is anyone that would like to connect with me, to chat about their experience and how it has affected them mentally and physically since their diagnosis. I haven't met anyone that has had thyroid cancer and often feel like it would be helpful for me to talk to someone that really understands. I am a good listener too!

Hi everyone. This is completely new for me and I was hoping to chat with someone who has/had the same type of cancer or can think of anything reassuring! 15 days ago I got diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Didn't even know I had cancer- my GP saw me for a routine appointment and noticed my neck was a little swollen. I ended up having a decent lump in my right lobe, which all medical professionals thought was benign. The biopsy proved them wrong. Unfortunately for me, it is malignant. In those 15 days, I've had a total thyroidectomy, 19 lymph nodes were also removed and 12 out of 19 were cancerous. My calcium dropped during my hospital stay and meant I was there for 5 nights. I've now been at home recovering for 3 days. It all happened so quickly. Which I am grateful for, but gives me limited time to process anything. I'm now in the process of figuring out whether a second surgery is needed to clear out any more cancerous cells or if I'm ready to into radiotherapy. My surgeon keeps telling me that I will not die from this. But I can't help but feel like this is the end. I'm so scared to find out the next step. If you have gone through anything like this, please reply. It would mean alot.
