Hi guys - Joanna you tell everyone to stay positive and you seem so happy. You really are an inspiration despite what you are going through thankyou for being such a lovely person. Yep I had chemo on Tuesday - the worst I have ever had - had to stay at my sister's on Tues night because she was so worried aaaagh I hate making people worry ANYWAY I AM FEELING GOOD TODAY thank God. I have to get it around my teensie brain that it is the chemo making me sick but also making me better yeah!!! I'm not sure if it was you who asked about the anti-nausea tablets - think it was - the strong ones are Maxolin (had one on Tues during chemo) worked very very quickly - did not vomit. The new tabs my Oncologist prescribed are Domperidone - yes we had a laugh over that one. Haven't tried them yet - fortunately - I'm not a vomiter, just feel incredibly nauseaus at times - he said these should settle that feeling down. I really think a bottle of Dom would make me feel better - but I am not allowed to think pleasant thoughts of alcohol damn!!! Joanna and Samex thankyou both - I see the oncologist tomorrow- whooppee- so I will ask him about the lovely variety of tablets you have both suggested. What will I have now mmm - that looks nice - pretty white, no the yellow one looks nice too - decisions decisions. Thanks Joanna I love the sound of frozen raspberry - started salivating when I read that! Going to get some raspberry cordial and make ice blocks. Today I am feeling better- I get the really really horrible chemo effects up to 4 or 5 days before I start my next cycle - as though my body is crying out for more - very strange. Then after the drip I'm psycho due to the steroids then come good about Thursday or Friday then stay semi ok until I finish my oral chemo then back to the rats brain and pain and paranoid thoughts and behaviour - oh I am such a joy to be with - OH do NOT forget the worst of it DIARREAH!!!!! Thanks again to you lovely ladies - and Joanna - good on you for being brave and shaving your head - I attacked mine 2 weeks ago then had it cut REALLY short at hairdressers- so it won't be to much of a shock when it finally falls out or I shave it. I am going to have a grizzle - I have spent 90% of today on the toilet, I have the most agonising cramps in both upper and lower stomach. I haven't eaten because nothing appeals to me and I just feel sick.I was dehydrated so I forced down damn fluids I didn't want - and off to the toilet again!! I was told to drink 2-3 litres of fluid a day to flush out kidneys - Most days I come close but today has been very poor. I am sick and tired of these damned side effects and I have found myself getting a little depressed - when is it going to end - I am sick of being sick.Sorry I know I am not alone and there are people suffering more than me and not only with cancer. I have taken 5 imodium for diarreah some useless anti nausea tablet, a buscopan for the cramps - great help - not! and 4 panadols. Now the damn toilet again!! A friend of mine mentioned Lomotil for diahrrea has any one taken that and is it any good and also maxolin for nausea - not vomiting, just sick - any good. thanks Well happiness signing off for now!! ... Joeyanna I really feel for you I'm having all the nasties associated with chemo too and I have vented on more than one occasion on this site. I love your humour - the pink goodies bag made me laugh. On many occasions I have bitched about the fact that breast cancer patients seem to be treated differently from the rest of us - bowel and liver cancer - what could they give me? a little brown goody bag!! Not terribly attractive prospect. When all is said and done - we all have a horrid cruel disease, no matter what part of our bodies it attacks and you are so right - chemo does suck!!!!. You said about your stomach muscles due to throwing up - I don't have that problem, I just have the worst upset stomachs imaginable - I will definitely have strong bowel muscles - now that's a pleasant thought! Hi Lisa I was very sorry and saddened to read that you have become a widower at such a young age. Yes it will be difficult for quite a while, but you will always have your memories which no one can ever take from you. Remember the fun times, the good times before cancer reared its ugly head and live in the knowledge that your husband is no longer suffering. Cry as much as you want, crying is good - after my Dad was taken by cancer, I think I shed a lifetime of tears; I never thought I would recover from his death , but I did - took quite a while but I made myself think that Dad would not want me to be so sad. He would have wanted me to go on living and remembering our good times - it worked for me - try it, don't expect it to happen overnight - but you will recover and find comfort. As others have said- use this site - it really is a great way of healing and finding comfort - we have all been through and are going through some horrible experiences so we all do understand. Aunty Larn - sound good?? I bet it does. Congratulations and enjoy watching your little nephew grow . I have an adorable little nephew and niece - they make life so much happier. Not having kids of my own , when my sister went back to work she asked me to look after them - definitely the best job I have ever had, even though I didn't regard it as a job.They are just the sweetest,kindest, polite, considerate little 8 and 6 year olds ever and they are so respectful (when they remember! of my illness).Playing with them, talking with them just being with them makes me forget about me - they are a blessing- so Larn- ENJOY. ... Jo, Unfortunately I cannot offer any solutions to your horrid horrible dilemma. All I can offer is my heartfelt best wishes to you and Rob. I can understand your worry about the CT Scan - I had my first scan after 3 months of chemo, last week,and if anyone had read my blogs prior to the scan - one totally obsessed paranoid woman!!! As it worked out there was no change from the original scans - so I did what I do best - totally freaked out and panicked- then to discover that while the tumors on my liver had not gone or shrunk - there were no more showing up!!So it was good news after all. Hi to everyone who read my obsessive, worrying blog. My fears of last night when I asked for some assistance in understanding my scan results were caused by total panic. My mind has been playing little tricks on me - can't concentrate, too many thoughts racing around madly, no time to stop and take it easy. This has resulted in my being ill since Christmas and living in a self inflicted hell. As I discovered today, through a very kind and patient friend, my scans haven't changed because NO MORE CANCER HAS GROWN!!! I have had the cancerous parts cut out and nothing has replaced them. Thank God. Yes I now feel like shouting for joy. The tumors on my liver have neither grown nor shrunk - so the chemo is working and I have just started my 5th cycle = 3 months of treatment, so I am still in early stage of treatment. I have now realised(sometimes takes a while),that it is extremely detrimental to my mental and physical health worrying/panicking as I have been doing and I need to learn to calm my mind. Hi everyone- thank you for your words of reassurance. I should change the subject to "I am confused". I had my 3 weekly attack on my cancer cells today - feel - absolutely rotten - funny about that. I received the results of my scans that I was obsessing over. I feel as though I should be running around shouting for joy - but I am not sure. If anyone can help me that would be much appreciated - as we all agree, no one is judged on this site. Thank goodness because I feel as though I will come across as selfish and stupid! On 10 August 2009 I had abdominal scans done - diagnosis - large mass enveloping bowel, ovaries and liver. Oncology diagnosis - advanced and aggressive. I have since had 7cm of bowel removed, both ovaries and lymph nodes - all cancerous and my liver, inoperable due to numerous tumours! Today I was told that there has been no change in my scans and to continue chemo. My dilemma is : why are the scans exactly the same even after my operation? I am so happy that more cancer has not been found - ecstatic actually, but am I missing something??? ... View more

Hi Willow - a crazy cat lover - wow at least there are two of us in this world who admit to it. I know a lot of people who just love to admit that they hate cats- when I question them as to why, I am given some frivolous idiotic answer - they are cunning, they poo in my garden, they scare my chooks - come on, get a life! I only have 1 cat and at times she seems like 10. Tulip is a gorgeous tortoiseshell tabby. She has the most amazing colouring which seems to change in different lighting - ginger, brown, fawn, cream, auburn,black -at times they all merge into one beautiful colour. I am also able to throw her over my shoulder, where she happily sits trying to bite my face and ears. Your cats sound gorgeous,and like Tulip loves me, they obviously love you.I believe we are the lucky ones- being blessed with the love of cats and I'm sure Sailor would agree- he has a huge (by comparison to mine) black and white kitty.
