This time last year I was desperate to find out what was wrong with my husband. Staggering, slurring his words sending incomprehensible texts and emails. Friends were telling me to get him to the doctor, they couldn't see how hard it was for me to convince him that there was a problem. Finally I talked him into coming to the doctor with me after his left side facial muscles sagged. She wasn't sure what was wrong but listened to me when I pushed to see a neurologist. 1st available appointment was in January, I said he wouldn't survive to then (I had no idea what was wrong) After he wrote off our car I managed to get into the neurologist. Sent for MRI, back to neurologist that day. Then our world fell apart hearing those words 'you have a massive Brain Tumour' I wasn't even sure he could properly comprehend the news. A bed was booked for that night at hospital with surgery in 2 days time. Then the train trip home to tell the kids oh so hard. But here we are still going fighting on.

So sorry . This news must be devastating . Thank goodness you were persistent . I hope the surgery goes well . You will find support here as others have had husbands with brain tumours . Are your children young ?

I meant to add that it is such a pity it took so long to convince your husband to see a doctor but it is of no benefit saying that now . I'll bet you have been thinking this since the diagnosis .

Thanks Silly, we often discuss the fact that it took so long to convince him that there was a problem. He was just putting it all down to stress, we both wonder what would have happened if he was single or away for work...Our girls are now 15, 13 and 8 the older two have some understanding on his diagnosis, but for now life is going as 'normally' as we can keep it. His surgery went well they managed to get 70%. Did radiation and chemo for six weeks and is now onto his 10th chemo cycle. Geoff we had a great time away, although we were tucked up in our cabin each night by 10:30. His biggest side affect from the tumour to date is fatigue. Also noticing he is becoming agitated quickly and understandably depressed. Cheers Min

Hi Minx, How worrying for you knowing something was wrong and trying to convince your husband to see a dr. How is he going now? My husband was diagnosed with a GBM in January this year and isn't doing too well. Our children are grown, I can't imagine how hard it is with younger children to cope with as well. There are lots of lovely, caring people on here who are only too willing to listen or to give advice as they have been there, done that. Take care, Jan

Min Tucked up in bed at 10.30 - I assume that is PM not AM time. If so sounds like an ideal time to me to be tucked up in bed (10.30PM). Thus you appear to be of generation that relates to having tight skin syndrome (I am of a looser skin variety):-) Glad that you enjoyed your time away - some memories to keep as you go through the days ahead. Getting agitated, does has he underlying pain? Hugs Geoff
