mum in law not well

hi, this is my 1st time on here. my mother in law has got secondary cancer of the liver and at the moment she has had one tace procedure which has shrunk the tumors, but she now has tumor markers up to 2000, waiting on a pet scan on friday... worried about her as she has got lots of pain and doing it tough, on morphine tablets for pain which are making her extremly sick. which in turn is making her more frail..her positiveness is gone at the moment and i just dont know what to say to support her ..scared for her as she looks so frail and i am fearing the worst.

Hi, jane marie, As a person who has gone through this journey, it is not too sounding good, how this happens, nobody knows My lovely wife of 40 yrs was dx with the secondaries in her liver and they were inoperable. Keep supporting your mother in law and tell her how much you love her, even when she is sick she will acknowledge that you are there for her. Do what you can for her god bless wombat4

Hi jane marie, My wife had her CEA up around 1900, after a few rounds of folfox they were down to 8, and stayed there for a couple of months, so although the high numbers are worrying, our oncologist told us that the CEA is only a part of what they look at. keep strong wombat4

so sorry to hear that you too have gone through this journey, feel so helpless seeing her so unwell, if only i could take the pain for her but that is fantasy and we are in reality... yes i tell her every day that i love her, thankyou for your kind words and wisdom . come monday we will have more results and know what the next step is... dont know how she will cope if they tell her to have chemo all through the body... not sure if her frail frame can take it.. take care jane marie
