Lost

Feeling lost and fragile. Don’t know what the futures holds. Will I recover and be healthy forever or will it come back. Please no more pain, please no more fatigue, please no more nausea, please no more surgery, please no more cancer. Please

Re: Lost

Hi Richard,  I remember feeling so low like you are now at the start of my chemo treatment 😢.   I understand ♥️. I was able to get through the six rounds of chemo only with my husband and kids support. I hope you are surrounded by those who love you. That was in 2021 and I have been cancer free up till now. I just appreciate every extra year that I get through 🙏.   It’s tough but just trust your medical team that they are giving you the best possible treatment for you. Sending you prayers and love 🙏♥️. Re: Lost

Hi Linda. Thank you for your kind words. Congrats on being cancer free, I hope to get to that stage and move on. Regardless of what happens next, I feel changed, I don’t think I will be same person again. It gives me hope to hear your free of that burden. You will be my inspiration to get through another day. ❤️

Re: Lost

As one who has been through this cancer battle once before, I feel for your struggle and wondering if things will ever be the same, or if you can or will live through this. Up until now, I was 14 1/2 years free of stage 2 Breast Cancer. Back in February, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer recurrence, and am doing very well treatment wise.

Your main objective to getting through cancer the first time around, is having a strong support system, be it family, friends, or your church family, finding ways to keep your mind off of your diagnosis, such as physical fitness (walking, riding a bicycle, swimming, muscle exercises to keep your body in shape), reading, listening to upbeat music, watching comedy movies, and just generally trying to keep up a positive mental attitude.

All of the above recommendations that I have made, were things that had pulled me though my initial cancer diagnosis to begin with, and regaining contact with old friends helped a great deal.

As I am heading into this next phase of my life with a stage 4 metastatic recurrence, I am learning to be more of service to others, be a bit more compassionate to others, and also learning that I can count on others to give me strength and guidance, when I feel as though I have none.

Having a pet to care for is also a very good stress reliever. They show unconditional love and joy, and are there for you when no one else is.

You are in my prayers as you battle this demon.
