Re: Need a dietician!!!
Hey Mili ... can you access a dietician through your hospital? I have seen two dieticians one in perth (200km away and where i had my treatment) and then another one locally which was when i was hospitalised with vomiting from chemo. I was told by the local one i could go back as an outpatient and see her. Hope that helps. :)

Re: Need a dietician!!!
Hi Mili,
I accessed a dietician at the hospital and also one recommended by my specialist, they went through what foods I had to have and not have and also weights of foods which is something that I would never have thought of (under 60 grams of meat a day was my hardest one). I was limited with my intake of many foods and additives - particularly of iodine (and boy is that in a lot of food), it can be overwhelming and time consuming, but definately worth following.
Let me know if you have any restricted foods, I may just be able to find some of my recipies that may suit.
Good luck,
Katie

Re: Need a dietician!!!
Hi Katie,
I have had thyroid Cancer twice now and would really like advice on what I can and can't eat regrding iodine.....Also, would like to know what my ongoing diet should be so as to make sure im getting the most I can out of food for the rest of my life. Its strange as I have spoken to a couple of people and nobody could point me to someone that can help. What hospital did you get advice from? Did you recieve this as an outpatient?
Thanks for your help!!

Re: Need a dietician!!!
Hi again Mil,
I did email you yesterday, not sure if you got it. When you read it, please remember that my diet was from over 13 years ago (boy I am starting to feel old and feel great about it!)
I also found a great website that has a relatively good break down on what to avoid and what you can have, it might help you in the interim? Again, please check with your doctor before changing your diet, or anything else!
Have a look at:

I hope that this helps.
Katie 🙂
