Hi Ruthock,
If there is anything we here at Cancer Council can do, please ring our 13 11 20 line if you have any questions.
In terms of wider peer support, we also have Telephone Support Groups for those with advanced forms of cancer, or the Cancer Connect service for those with early/localised cancers who are looking for one-on-one support with someone who has also gone through cancer.
We're here if you need.
All the best,
Ashley

Hi Kate985,
This all sounds so overwhelming for you over the last few weeks. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. In terms of support, Cancer Council can offer you some counselling support with one of our counsellors, some phone peer support with someone who has also gone through breast cancer in our Connect service, or if you need general treatment and self-care resources you can always get some of those from our oncology social worker and nurse consultants. Any of these things can be accessed if you call our 13 11 20 line. We're here to help as much as we can.

Hi Lindy77,
I'm so sorry to hear things have become so tense since the diagnosis and treatment. It all sounds so stressful for you. You are always welcome to call our 13 11 20 line to get some self-care resources, or to debrief with our oncology social workers. I'm so glad you're getting some counselling support too, but if you would like further support from community you can also ring that number and request to join our Carer Telephone Support where you can speak to others going through similar carer experiences.
I hope you get some great advice by others here online as well. Please take care of yourself.

Hi InternetTuffGuy,
Thank you for reviving the thread to get some support during all of this. The side effects of treatment can be such a whirlwind for people, especially as they have to get to know their own body again. This sounds very tough and frustrating. I'm glad there are others online who have been able to share their experiences and offer ways to help through this. If you need any additional support, we have our 13 11 20 consultants who are oncology social workers and nurses who can offer some pathways for more information, there's also our counselling service if you need some help dealing with the mental frustration, and we also have our Cancer Connect service where you can speak to those with their own lived experience of prostate cancer over the phone.
Call our 13 11 20 line number if you need any of those.
All the best
Ash

Hi Mui25,
I'm glad you were able to reach out and ask for some community support. Side effects from treatment are always so individual and varied. It would be such a challenging time, so I hope others who have gone through it can offer some tips around managing this.
If you need any clinical information, our 13 11 20 line consultants may be able to talk you through this as well. Give them a call if you need.
All the best
