Hi Ant24 you have a harsh diagnosis there, sorry to read that. The cancer has spread, while I was on treatment, food wasn’t something I wanted but I ate what my body could take,I got in to mushrooms,as supposedly they are good for your immune system,my mates supplied me with venison snags,I also ate cfresh fish, weetbix, and for some reason my body craved scrambled eggs,it still does occasionally. My diet is reasonable I still take Creon it helps with meals ! Was told vitamin D so I still take 1000 Iu daily. It can be helpful during treatment. i also was in to veggies and hospital sustained smoothies blended with bananas and milk. our bodies react differently to chemo and radiation of which I didn’t have,I was lucky enough to just have surgery and chemo, the strength of which was be tailored to my blood tests and how I felt. you just have to find by trial and error what works diet wise for your self,Walking is the best exercise you can do keep it up regularly when you can ,also your mind will play a big part,I listened to relaxation tapes, With Pancreatic Cancer the blood can thicken so talk to your medical team about prevention. Of other issues from it. wish I had some more suggestions that helped me,Also drink heaps of water after chemo it helps flush your body. best wishes kj I was lucky with my medical team straight up front with answers of the questions I asked.

Hi Lilly 1 I had a quick browse on SCC on internet and it did say certain individuals risk may be increased by dairy intake ,probably good to have a chat with your GP about their consumption. kj

I have survived pancreatic cancer but in May this year my wife of 57 years who had Parkinson’s passed away due to complications after choking on food and CPR ,it was very unexpected and four days later she passed away it was her decision to have the oxygen mask taken off, as she was deteriorating badly and nothing more medical could be done, she had a DNR . I am now experiencing grief due to the loss of my best friend and love of my wife,I am fortunate my daughter sold up and moved in to help during my illness. Life won’t be the same ,I now focus on my daughter, grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.also friends who have supported me. Loneliness can be a strong emotion without a loved one as I am finding out I will be forever grateful to have been given an extra 14 years to spend with my wife and be her career.

H Hi Jano 13 I’m sorry to read what is happening to you,I don’t think you are being conceited about your looks I understand you being self conscious but true friends won’t judge you on your looks they just want to support in any way possible have a chat to your GP or oncologist about your diet needs if you haven’t already. I know weight gain while having chemo can be very difficult, pancreatic cancer is very draining, that’s good your chemo has been reduced, that may give your body some help to get calories to it ,a go to food for me was scrambled eggs on toast, also hospital sustagen blende with milk and bananas, sorry that’s the only suggestion I have.,you are on a very harsh treatment so try not to judge yourself to harsh kj

Hi Carffald if there is bad news how do you think you would cope. Sometimes it is better to wait for confirmation from a person who we can then ask the relevant questions instead of your mind creating different scenarios than a written word and it’s different meanings,we are all different in our responses to medical news good luck which ever what you choose is best for yourself kj
