katy_BIMALOY12 katy Unfortunately the bloating comes with pancreatic cancer,it comes also when ascites happens which is a build up of fluid in abdomen which is sometimes drained the chemo is mainly to help relieve pain and symptoms in the later stages of the disease,eventually chemo stops working,I still get bloating and fullness years after diagnosis there isn’t much in the way to relieve these symptoms  it also depends what stage your Mum is at as well.Sorry to read of her illness kj ... janec I can understand the anger and frustration your Mum is experiencing ,Pancreatic cancer is a very harsh disease both physically and mentally,it would be frightening to know treatment options are no longer there,and what lies ahead.   I hope something can be organised with her GP.Depression can rear  its ugly head with such a disease ,try and focus on what you are doing to help Mum continuing your love,compassion and help,her words and behaviour are definitely not meant to hurt anyone,don’t take it personally it’s a frightening time for her .I met people on this forum who I became friends with we were all were suffering pc I am fortunate to be a survivor ,without treatment for your Mums depression that makes it so much more difficult my friends were all on antidepressants that helped them at that terrible time in their lives ,I feel for your dad it would be terrible to see the one he has loved for so long suffering as she is,As you say she is 91 great effort.I hope that your fathers health improves.UnfortunatelyI have no words of wisdom except to take note and please use the list of services available that Kate has provided , my thoughts and best wishes are with you and your family  kj ... Kathryn Every individual reacts differently to chemo,.The symptoms you describe can happen to anyone and I think the actual health of the person receiving this treatment has a bearing too,I lived on sustagen blended with bananas and scrambled eggs on toast,during this period,you certainly are right in asking for a review before the next chemo is given.Best wishes to you both . Hi Rick   Thanks,after my surgery the surgeon came to me and said the cancer was in my nerves and spider  veins as well as my pancreas he could not get it all, During chemo I was diagnosed terminal and had to stop the chemo as my body could not take anymore ,If I continued I would not live to see the end of my chemo regime and yet I am here, things happen that are unexplained,we are all different and where there is life there is hope.   Well done on your one year anniversary,you had a big surgery ,the bush is one of my passions,camping,fishing being with family ,friends and enjoying life,great to read of your passion for your animals they are a great source of enjoyment.   I also wish you the all the best and longevity. kj ... Hi Jaquie   It is very hard with a stage 4 diagnosis of pancreatic cancer,sometimes you are consumed by thoughts of death and frustration,it is made even harder when chemo is so debilitating,unfortunately depression comes with that  disease,your husband needs counseling ,and the right medication.I have had friends suffer from PC and each person had a different mindset ,Trying to stay positive is very very difficult, he needs to try and focus on living one day at a time,you are by his side helping look after his needs,but you must also try and look after yourself at the same time as stated before the cancer council has services that may be of help to you both don’t neglect yourself.Best wishes  kj ...
