An interesting and uplifting moment occured for us ,when I was away camping with just my wife at the weekend we were able to get her down to the river, for a quick dip in the water, does not seem much ,but it took her lots of effort ,she had a fall last year smashed her ankle both sides and had to be flown out by RFDS and surgery ,she suffers from balance problems caused by Parkinson's I held her all the time and she leant on a walking stick,we parked her walker this time. The smile on her face and her words of I thought I would never ever enjoy the river water again. Were gold to me,It is such a small thing when other people are facing Cancer, but We have learned you take happiness any time and place you can get it. Never say Never kj

Hi Keri Yes I did experience bloating and fullness,It is unfortunately a symptom of PC .I now eat very small meals, as Susan wrote palliative can also help in controlling pain and try for a better quality for your Mum.I do hope the vomiting is a one off, everyone responds differently to chemo I remember my body did not cope too well where friends had minimal side effects.I hope they get the pain under control quickly. Its very hard physically and mentally for those diagnosed and family members. kj

Keri As you are experiencing Pancreatic Cancer is a very confronting disease,at stage 4 and terminal devastating for all family members, hopefully her chemo can alleviate and help with pain and possibly shrink tumours with a better quality, but we all respond differently to chemo and its side effects,I remember from my chemo for her to drink plenty of water if possible it flushes toxins quicker. And just try and take it one day at a time you also have to look after yourself very stressful time. kj

I can't understand why your father has not been referred to a Specialist dealing with kidney cancer on confirmation of diagnosis. Also you need much more information from his GP about what is occurring ,I would be making an appointment ASAP with him and press for details. kj

Try some hospital sustagen drink with a blended banana and milk or just mixed with plain water I found it nourishing.

Nausea, and not wanting to eat are symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer ,her body would be still be recovering from surgery as well ,after my whipple it was weeks before I could eat,I could not remember all my questions to the docs so I wrote it all down, even though I had no appetite during chemo I would try a small serve of scrambled eggs on toast they told me to eat whatever I could keep down.it is trial and error.Good that you are seeing the specialist Tuesday.
