It reads like at the present your mum Is not medically well enough to start a vigorous and strong chemotherapy to try and shrink the tumour so a whipple can proceed,I would be asking for as much information about the proposed treatments from her medicos,,unfortunately options are limited at this time. Everyone responds differently to treatments good luck.

I have noticed a gradual change of more exposure by the media over the years to Pancreatic Cancer, more funding is needed to find better and more successful treatment outcomes. My thoughts are with all touched by this horrible disease.

Ruby hill what a horrible situation you find yourself in,being in a relationship with someone who is not sure of there commitment to you ,that would be very hard to cope with on itself, without your major reoccurring health concerns. As you know without sleep the body and mind does not function well, depression can set in with any diagnosis or treatment of cancer, and also the extra stresses you are under.
Have you had a chat to your GP about seeking professional help with both matters,or are you already seeing someone,it can help to talk with a professional who may be able to offer you an alternative way of dealing with what is happening in your life,or is there someone you can talk with,I found it beneficial in the early days of my diagnosis to chat with a psychologist.
If you are unsure of your living arrangements you need a back up plan.
Have a chat to your specialist about your treatment options and affordability.
Best wishes to you

HappyDragon it is very stressful waiting for results,it's easy for me to say try and try and take it one day at a time but for me that is how I still keep focus ,I found listening to a relaxation tape eventually helped me settle ,I had a talk to a psychologist who helped change my mindset on how I approached ongoing treatments and concerns with the outcome of being diagnosed with Cancer. It is very normal to have these feelings and thoughts, you may be surprised with the inner strength you can draw on at this time.Best wishes

Yes it does take a bit of getting used to the new you after treatment stops. The mental side of what you have been through also takes as much as the physical side it will improve but you need to take as much time as you need and as Emily wrote be gentle with your self,it is very hard for others to know what we have been through we all respond differently, but love understanding and caring from others goes a long way to help our healing.
