Allicat, y I had my final reconstuction on the 11/05/2011 and am home after just 2 days in hospital. It was not painful at all. what my PS did was remove the tissue expander and insert the selicone or gel. the stiches are neat (done on the same cut as the mastectomy). the drains are still in. In fact I went into his surgery today to have them removed but he said that they are not stopping - so i should come back on thursday. these dont hurt when he cuts them. You too will be on your way to recovery. Please do the exercises for that arm as it helps with the circulation. I look into google for any help. thankyou for your lovely support. i read your message before I went to have the injections and it made me realise it was only one step on a long road - and i could get through it. I have so many postive comments and a phone call today from survivors i know now it is possible and it is ok to feel bad at times. Still got a smile! ... View more

Hi Jules yes all went well, it is now 8 weeks since surgery and i have started chemotherapy. I feel really good in this third week since chemo and have to go back again next week. I have met some lovely people in local supprit groups and I also treasure the comments i receive on line. so thankyou for your reply ... View more
