Hello Maz47, how are you today? my name is Maggie, last year I had a 11cm malignant tumor on my pelvis and I had it removed along with all of my girly bits and I had an ileostomy as they damaged my large bowel along the way, I had radiation, but in April the cancer metastasized to my liver and lungs and 13 weeks ago, the doctors told me I had 12 weeks to live so I have had a weeks grace, so far,I am currently on chemo and I know how you feel, try not to worry the best thing to do is to get to know your stoma nurse, she is the one who can help you with products, it is important to be comfortable and feel confident, it is very scary I know but you are stronger than you think, I also found this site to be extremely helpful http://www.healingwell.com/ I go here quite often, it is a very supportive site, you can email me maggietaylor@live.com.au if you like I love to chat and listen, good luck honey and take care. ... Hi Meh, it is important you go to your doctor and ask about the back pain, it maybe related or not but worrying about it is probably causing you more stress than knowing what it is,I understand how you feel about being alone, I am married and often feel very alone, even though my husband has been great, maybe starting a group on facebook that has nothing to do with cancer, I have a music page and find it such a relief to just share and listen to music with others and not think about cancer, treatments or doctors for a while is a help, even though most of the people on the page are family and know i am having treatment at the moment we don't talk about it and that has helped me, maybe it can help you too. ... Hi Sailor, thank you, for replying, I have been drinking Cranberry juice, and having Urals but neither are helping, I know a chemist I will ask him to make me up some Potassium Citrate, I went along to the nurse and they thought it sounded more like an infection and they tested me and it was positive,so although I still have radiation induced cystitis,the pain is a lot better now I am on antibiotics.. ... Well the whole thing is so distressing, I feel so hurt for us all,I wish I had a magic wound and could just make us all well, I often wonder how doctors cope with it all, I would be in a ball under my bed everyday, I thought the worst thing that could happen to me was when my daughter was struck with a brain tumor 15 years ago, but she beat all the odds and they called her a miracle, she now has a little baby and is cancer free, now it has struck me, and here it is in my life all over again, I HATE CANCER, I wish I could take it and shake it and break it into pieces, and maybe I can, maybe we all can, who knows ?. For those who asked about other treatments the only other treatment I have heard of is (Gerson Therapy) but I don't know anyone personally who has done it personally, I watched about 5 mins of it and I don't like the way they talk about the medical profession, I need to feel they are on my side at the moment even though with the treatment and its side effects it does not feel that way at times, I am in early days I suppose and I am hopeful, God bless us all. ...
