3 1/2 years after prostatectomy my life has never been the same, I had hoped the nerve sparing robotic surgery may have have left me with some kind of sex life after but no miracles to report, add to this a now very weak bladder (so much fun) . Would love to have implant surgery but the costs are so very prohibitive. I sometimes wonder if I should have had the prostate removed at all knowing the life I have now. Sorry to be so negative but I feel we should all know beforehand what consequences may be ahead. I guess the best way to describe me now is that I’m alive and still working and paying the bills but it feels like only half a life. Am I the only one?

When you say you might have cancer how can you be sure till you see a doctor? With your family history you should be making an appointment today, cancer doesn't get better all by itself, do you think your parents would want you to just ignore it? Take care!

Cancer sure doesn't care who it picks a fight with, I'm sorry to hear that it has moved to your bones, it's my greatest fear as well, had a bone scan done months ago but I guess they will want another one done before surgery for me too. Anyway I wish you all the best Susien and feel free to contact if you want to talk about it.

Sounds like their on top of things and you'll get a clearer picture of it soon. I'll be pleased just to get an acknowledgement from the hospital that I'm in the queue.

I don't know about anyone else here, but I'm a face booker and I just updated my status and spilled the beans so to speak (not so easy for a bloke) wow the support I got from my friends was amazing, I was gob smacked really, made me feel better that's for sure. Getting this off my chest seemed to make me see things in a brighter way!
I'm going to get my body moving as much as I can to lose a few K's and get ready for surgery, I know it is the right thing to do so why not just do it? Going into this as positive as one can be, 5 km walk planned first thing tomorrow... Anyone care to join me?

Glad to see you have a "bucket list" to get through. Did you have a prostatectomy? My surgeon calmly pushed me toward that end, my PSA nearly doubled in six months, I was diagnosed January this year and he flat out told me no more watchful waiting this needs to come out!

Hope all goes well, I know my dogs are going to hate it when they wont be allowed to jump on my lap after surgery (dogs!) Wish you the best outcome.
