Hi Toughchick, I too have just been diagnosed with an appendix tumour and a Peritonectomy has been recommended at the RPA in Sydney. As I am debating as to whether to have this op or not, I was wondering if you can answer some questions for me.... how are you feeling now, has your life returned to normal i.e. pain free and resuming normal activites and with the chemo treatment did you lose your hair. Also wondering has your stomach and bowels returned to normal i.e. no bags attached. Last but not least question, how many chemo treatments did you go through after the operation. Many thanks for your time and look forward to your response. Kind regards.

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with a 'musenous appendix tumour' and the suggested operation is a peritonectomy. I have read a lot of articles on this procedure and am quite daunted and overwhelmed. So just wondering if anyone can give me any information how it has affected their lives afterwards i.e. return to normal activites, what life changing things have occurred if any etc. Also have been told during surgery they will pump chemo into my stomach, so also wondering if anyone has lost their hair with this process. I know this sound like only a small question but my husband loves my long hair. Anyway if anyone supply me with further information of the after affects of the operation would be greatly appreciated as I am weighing up the pros and cons of having the operation. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Zoble, have read with interest your query, as I too will be having this op in the next few weeks at the RPA in Sydney. So was wondering how you have coped after the operation i.e. pain level and have you resumed back to your normal life and activities. As I have been reading so many articles on this I am starting to wonder whether I should go ahead with this op or not. Also when chemo was pumped into your tummy did you end up losing your hair, I know this is only a small part to worry about but my husband loves my long hair....lol... Look forward to any positive (or bad) information that you can give me in helping me decide whether to go ahead with the op or not. Hope you are well and back on track.
