Thanks guys. All great advice which I’ll take on board. Lots of things happening in my life right now. Yes I know I’m lucky to have my life and intend to make the most of it. I go out everyday with a smile and put in 100% at work. Just sometimes things feel hard and I need to express my feelings with those who understand. 😁

I had cancer last year and have Now finished treatment and all is ok physically. I wasn’t too bad last year but now with covid etc I’ve had 3 unsettled years. I’m now feeling really unsettled, anxious and work and life generally feel Hard work. I feel guilty because I’m well but feel very down for no reason. I’m sleeping badly and know I’m drinking wine to get through. Every day a bit of a struggle. Not sure where to turn and I really have no reason to feel like this. Any ideas?

Hi Emma. Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I had endometrial cancer last year. I had surgery with lymph node removal and External beam radiation treatment. Fortunately I didn’t have chemo. You are at the worst point right now - waiting! And with covid too. What was your diagnosis?

So sorry to hear your situation. Try and stay positive because you haven’t had your ultrasound yet. See what that shows. If the endometrium lining is thickened they will do a biopsy. It’s my understanding that post menopausal bleeding can have many causes and I think I was told only 10% of bleeding and thickened endometrium results in a cancer diagnosis. Try and take it one step at a time. It’s good you have reached out for help from cancer council. Take care.

I am so sorry you have had this diagnosis and at a young age. A year ago I was in your position awaiting surgery and staging/grading of endometrial cancer. It is a truly terrible and confusing time and if you have pain it must be so much worse. I’m glad you have connected with the cancer council they are fantastic and also with the online community. My advice is to try and focus on getting through each day and each step of the journey. I know it’s hard but try not to look too far ahead at what might happen. Focus on on the first step which is your surgery then go from there. Write down questions as they come to you so you have them ready at appointments. Don’t be afraid to post at any time. In this community we know what it is like. Sending you love and prayers. 🙏🏻💙

Hi no I didn’t have anyone with me. My youngest daughter was just starting uni at the same time I had surgery. I’ve been a single parent since she was 5. When I went back for radiation I lived in villa accommodation attached to the hospital for 7 weeks. There I met a whole new family who I am in contact with all the time. I finished radiation in June.

Enjoyed reading this whole post guys. I also had endometrial cancer and had surgery and radiation treatment- had to live away from home for the entire time. Was feeling a bit down in the dumps this evening and it cheered me up no end. What is the new normal- I’m not sure. People assume all is back to normal but it’s not. Thanks for your entertaining thread.

I also feel the same. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer then had surgery and radiation for stage 1 grade 3. I was healthy throughout but still suffered many emotional issues. I lived with many very sick people at the hospital where I had my treatment and felt very lucky. Since returning home though I’ve struggled with the whole diagnosis. Regardless of what cancer you’ve had you are still a survivor. Be kind to yourself!
