Hi Jill
I think of you and the boys often and wonder how you are all getting on. you were in my thoughts tonight so thought I would remind you about the little poem I treasure.
cheers
Linda
HOLD ON
when troubles assail you HOLD ON
when pressures surround you, HOLD ON
When skies turn to gray and you can't find your way,
When the outlook seems darkest, HOLD ON
Whenever you're lonely, HOLD ON
Whenever you're weary, HOLD ON
For God is near you
To guide and cheer you
When you reach for this hand
HE WILL HOLD ON.

On Monday we said a final goodbye to my beautiful sister who had fought a huge battle with cancer for most of her life.
First developing breast cancer at 30, than again at 50 and then Peritoneal mesothelioma. She fought every stage of her cancers with dignity and strength and was a true inspiration to everyone around her, even her doctors and hospital staff.
The peritoneal was the last straw for her but she gave it her all to try to get better. She would have treatment, walk out and book a trip to Bali then come back and start again. She was amazing and her family surrounded her with love and hope.
She got to spend two weeks in Bali with her whole family about 2 months ago and she was so proud to be able to do that. She organised her own funeral and it was an amazing send off. Just what she wanted, full of fun, laughter and colour. I could imagine her looking down on us and saying 'it’s as I planned it'.
So for me, it’s a final goodbye to a very much loved sister. You taught me so much in life and how to handle it. I am so proud of you and always will be. I now know why I had the strength when I was going through my cancer scare as you showed me how to have courage and strength
Love
Linda

My sister was diagnosed in March 2010 with Peritoneal Mesoth.. and sadly passed away on Friday. She fought a huge battle after having 2 lots of breast cancer then this.
she was so strong and gave herself goals all the way. she spent some time in hospital and stayed at home for most of it. She tried chemo right up to the end.
On Thursday night she had tickets to the Beach Boys and she went. It upset her she could not climb the steps and had to be carried but she got over that. Sadly she got blood clots in her leg and ended up in hospital on Monday.
We got a call on Thursday to say she was not seeing visitors so we heading to Perth. I did not go straight to see her as it was very late, choosing to visit Friday morning.
We received a call to say she had a turn for the worst at 7.10. We jumped in the car but sadly she passed away just before we got there. It was a huge shock as we did not expect it so soon.
After the shock I went in to see her and I was able to smile and give her a hug as she had no more pain and she looked so peaceful.
My sister should be an inspiration to all cancer patients. She had so much fight in her. After each chemo she would walk out and book a trip to Bali, her favourite place. She would come back ready for the next round.
Her funeral is set for the 24th and this will be a big day but I can assure you she will be sent off with the strength and dignity she deserves. Linda

My beautiful sister passed away this morning in her sheep. we did not get a chance to see her before but were able to give her cuddles later in the morning.
Jenny had so much fight in her it was unbelievable. she faught right to the end but sadly was on her own as it was not expected this soon.
i guess its a blessing as she was in so much pain in the end.

Its finally time to say goodbye to my beautiful sister. i will be seeing her tomorrow for the last time and i am unsure how to feel or what to say. its been a very long haul for her and its time for her to have some peace.
I feel for her children, grandchildren, husband, her mum and us her siblings. we are all feeling like shit, to put it bluntly.
all the family will be together this weekend so that will be a help in some sort of way.
Linda
this poem was given to me my a very special friend and its time to share it with you all:

Thanks. My sister is hanging in there. she is at home with Palative care. she rang me friday night and was full of beans. she said she is back on her steroids and you can hear it in her voice. she is almost hypo.
spoke to her daughter today and they saw her yesterday and she said she can hardly get out of the chair. she is in so much pain and falling over, not sleeping and getting very cranky.
she is not eating and is not allowed to drink too much. she said she is very thirsty but only has a cup and a half a day as its just building up inside her.
i know most forms of cancer suck but this one is so painful and goes on for so long. i feel of her and all other suffers of this one.
we get to see her again in a few weeks so i cant wait. its not fair we live so far away.

Hi Lorraine
you are such a strong person and Gary was so very lucky to have you beside him throughout this. your beautiful family are your support now and from what i saw at the funeral you will never be alone.
i only wish i had the courage to visit you and gary, to offer help or just lend an ear. i just dont have that sort of courage at the moment knowing my sister is not far away from this stage.
life is such a bitch as i just sitting here waiting for the phone to ring and for someone to tell me my beautiful sister is gone. I hate living this far from Mandurah at the moment as i want to be there everyday and its an impossibility.
take care and hugs
